Geraint Jones qualified as a Registered Mental Nurse in 1987 at the North Wales Hospital in Denbigh, and worked as a staff nurse on the drug and alcohol detoxification ward for 10 years. Following the closure of the hospital in 1997 Geraint was appointed by CAIS as Clinical Manager for Hafan Wen, the purpose-built detoxification and treatment unit in Wrexham.
He continued to work in this capacity for a further 5 years and embarked on an MSc in Health Education in 2002, graduating from Bangor University in 2005. Geraint was then promoted to Clinical Manager for all CAIS services, which involved overseeing the organisation’s drug and alcohol residential settings and various aspects of the community based clinical services.
In 2009, Geraint was appointed as the Tier 4 Services Manager for CAIS ,and attained a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Residential Manager), whereupon he managed CAIS’ residential rehabilitation unit.
In January 2014 Geraint was promoted to Director, and currently has management responsibilities for the residential settings and veterans' services within the charity.
